


James qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1988, setting up a private land management business during that year, which he continues to operate alongside his responsibilities as a landowner and the General Manager of the Lulworth Estate in Dorset
The Lulworth Estate encompasses some 20 square miles of south Dorset with a wealth of heritage both natural and built, an estate which has maintained its agricultural income and successfully diversified into tourism, employing over 200 people and welcoming over 650 000 visitors a year to its historic buildings, countryside and the World Heritage Jurassic Coast
Home to one of the most significant 5 mile stretches of the Jurassic Coast which includes Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove, James has been fundamental in establishing the Jurassic Coast Trust to support conservation and education projects associated with World Heritage
